I. Premier Literacy Accessibility Suite, PreK-12 Staff and Students
Premier Literacy has a comprehensive suite of digital reading, writing and studying tools that the district has subscribed to for the past few years for in-school use.  We have recently supplemented the annual Premier Literacy subscription with their ATHome program that allows access to the Literacy Tools while students are in school and at home, making Premier's literacy technology a "lifestyle tool".   Its Accessibility Suite has programs that enable computers to read a web page, email, homework or a book.  There is even a program to convert documents into audio files so you can listen to them on your MP3 player or iPod!  These tools are also great for proofreading and editing homework and have features that help you study more efficiently and effectively.

Access is granted concurrently with the In-School Program for a one-year period enabling the district's students, parents and faculty to access literacy tools throughout the year.  Premier AT Home is hosted via Premier’s secure website that students can access from any computer.  You may go to the Premier Literacy website and download and install as many programs as you need.  Premier Literacy's limitation is that "these programs can only be installed on computers owned by the students or parents of Marblehead Public Schools students".  A unique Username and Password allow faculty, students and parents full access to Premier products.  To prevent the possibility of unauthorized use of the software, we are unable to post the login information on a public web page, but it may be obtained upon request to the Technology Department.  Please click here to log into the Premier Literacy website.

II. EasyBib, Grades 4-12 Staff and Students
The free version of this service offers MLA-only citation management tools.  The fee-based School Edition additionally offers APA and Chicago citation tools, Footnote formatting, 3rd party database import and ad-free features.   Because the expanded School Edition is IP-authenticated, no special code is required for users to register.  Once the user's account is created at school, it is available from anywhere.  The district has a trial Education subscription available through the end of June 2010 and, hopefully, sufficient usage will warrant subscribing to the service for the 2010-2011 school year.

EasyBib has partnered with Yolink, a toolbar add-on for Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome browsers, that enables deeper searches within links.  To view a short video on how EasyBib and Yolink work together, please click here. To download Yolink, please click here.

III. Design Science MathType, Grades 7 and 8 Staff and Students only
MathType is an equation editor for Windows and Macs that lets users create mathematical notation for word processing, desktop publishing, presentations, etc.  This license "allows installation on Middle School computers, portable computers and home computers owned, operated and within the immediate control of faculty, staff and students of the Marblehead Veterans Middle School."  To prevent the possibility of unauthorized use of the software, "the product key may not be posted on a public web page or anywhere where it may be seen by users other than those covered by the Middle School license."   may be obtained upon request to the Technology Department.  After downloading and installing the program, you will need to enter the Middle School's Product Key to register the software.  You may obtain the product key upon request to the Technology Department.  To learn more about MathType, please click here.
